On the 25th of December millions of Catholics all around the world celebrate Christmas. However, heavy snowfall throughout parts of France, Germany, Spain and Poland has caused dangerous driving conditions and transport disruptions. Famous landmarks were covered in snow in Paris and Berlin , while Warsaw's temperatures plummeted 10 degrees below centigrade.
Europe saw the heaviest snowfall in 17 years in the last 4 days. London Heathrow Airport had to scrap flights for the fourth day due to the snow in Europe that is making weather conditions impossible for flights to take off or land.
Tens of thousands of people have been waiting to get home or go on vacation for Christmas since the weekend. Europe’s busiest airport, Heathrow has been affected the most in terms of flights and number of passengers stranded. London Heathrow Airport operated at one-third of its capacity due to the heavy snow.
More snow fell in different parts of Europe this morning and Frankfurt airport was closed down.
Due to the current weather situation in many parts of Europe, delays and cancellations of flights may force many people to meet Christmas at airports or railway stations.

I think, in this situation, councils should make efforts to deal with the problem of snow. Firstly, I think it will be a useful suggestion to increas nomber of snow-removal machines in cities. Also it would be a good idea to make a campaign, and pay for volunteer snow removal. This is only my ideas but I think that they will help to force resolution of problems.

If everyone would take a shovel in hand and will clear the snow from the city then the problem will be solved with the roads. Of course the problem with the aircraft can not be solved, and so those who wanted to celebrate the holidays in a different location should hope only for nature itself.

ОтветитьУдалитьI think that the government must look at this problem early in the start of the winter. It is very dangerous roads and motorists in our contry. I hope that our governmets will be more attentive to our people and people care about themselves.
